************ REY AND VENUS WEDDING SDE ***************

One night last October 2009, Rey and I decided to hit a local carnival which opens only during October, in time for the fiesta. We waited on a long line just to try the rollercoaster and "space ship". I was able to capture some scenes while we were having fun on the rides. This video is special because its the only video we have before we got married and this was shown at the night of our wedding reception. Thanks for viewing!

Hello friends! I just want to share to you the joy that I feel about what's been happening in my life. I've got so many things to be thankful for, like, good health, a rewarding job, supportive friends and family. I have a good hubby; just gave birth (via normal delivery!) to a healthy baby boy; and wonderful physicians and care givers who helped me through my birthing process (they're truly God's gifts to me).

Am I getting too sentimental? ;-) These happy events call for a celebration!
To celebrate our first wedding anniversary and our baby's Christening, I'm planning to have a Country Chic inspired party. It's quirky, fun, and easy to prepare. Think how the priest would react when he sees our family dresses up as cowboys and cowgirls! HeeeeHaaw!! Got any ideas? Check out my inspiration board.

My latest glam photo from my husband, Rey Fortuna. At 5 months preganant or 25 weeks, to be exact, I think I look great. Pinoys tend to stereotype pregnant women. If you look prettier, they think you're having a baby girl. If you look ugly (I hate the word), they think it's a boy. Well I'm having a boy and I look prettier. Hehehe! I therefore conclude that the belief just a myth. A happy disposition, healthy diet, a loving husband makes a pregnant wife beautiful, plus little make up does the trick.

No, I was not going to President Noy Noy Aquino's Inauguration Ball (though I wish),

My hubby and I were invited to Gene's Salialam's exclusive birthday party last January 23. It was like as if he's having a coming out party. The guests were all in party mode as they came in white attire to the private family rest house in Tala. I enjoyed the seafood. We did not miss to have our photos taken by a pro photographer, Manong Tani. It was a fun party.. we had way enough fun that we missed to take a shot of his fancy cake!

My husband came home bringing photos they got from a fashion shoot for a local designer. I picked some that I liked and knew right away what to do with them. Inspired by the movies and fashion ads, I decided to retouch the photos to make it more glam.

I own this vintage PEANUTS comic book by Charles M. Schulz which was published in 1968. Although the cover is somewhat dilapidated, it still serves its purpose and has kept the binding and pages intact.

I like the page about Linus reacting to Lucy's belated-Valentine's Day card for Charlie. It's true, thoughtfulness and kindness is something that should be done on the spot. But as the saying goes, "Better late than never". Thank you!

XOXO

25 years ago, Mercedes and Jose had a very simple wedding. This time, with four teens by their side, they celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary last January 12, 2010 with an unforgettable reception fit for a noontime show. Belly dancers and Hiphop youngsters, yes, pwede sa reception. But Cosmic cyclers? This is the first! I was amazed.

William & Aleli's Wedding
December 21, 2009

I love weddings! This is the reason why (as much as possible) I attend whenever I'm invited. I don't take RSVP for granted. Aside from giving courtesy to the couple, I like the feeling of being someone special. All the blood, sweat, and tears that came with the planning is all falling into place on their wedding day. To be invited is an honor for me to be there to witness their dream coming true.
A few days ago, I attended the second wedding of my friends, William & Aleli. Their first was a simple civil wedding 3 years ago. This time, together with their son, Linus, they wanted something grand. Something that they will cherish and remember for the rest of their lives. It was a fun wedding, of course. A wedding that truly speaks of its mastermind, no less than Aleli herself. Congratulations and Best wishes to Wil and Ai!

PS. You may grab my photos from this site, but kindly ask for permission before you do.

There are  two things I'm happy about. First, I'm happy that I live in a place where there's moviehouses (Zamboanga City is the only place in Region IX where you can find a  movie house), and second, I'm happy that my fiance likes going to the movies, too.
The last movie we saw was Final Destination IV. It was also our chance to see trailers of the coming movies. Depending on the movie trailer, we decide which movies to watch or pass. There was this trailer showing the destruction of a city and a family trying to save their lives. It was full of action, drama, and science.
Last night was the premiere of that movie. The title: 2012. That movie was about the world coming to an end. How did the world end? It happened on December 12, 2012. An Indian scientist/geologist found out that a huge solar eruption just happened causing the superheating of the earth's core and eventually melting the earth's crust. This caused a series of caltaclysmic events of a magnitude that we could imagine.  Super volcanoes erupted; massive earthquakes; land breaking apart and shifting from one latitude to another; super tsunamis swallowed the Himalayas. It was chaos. Unbelievable.
Before this fateful event came, ancient Mayans knew about it. Scientists have been observing everything and knew what was about to come, so the White House was informed. The head of the state was Black, representing the present, Barrack Obama. Somewhere behind the scene was a conspiracy going on. Original paintings were stolen; Chinese workers were hired for a construction; an Arabian King contemplating about his large family; and so on.
A million years ago, during the age of the dinosaurs, nature held the baton for the selection of the species. This time, the humans made sure that they would survive. (How? I won't tell you.so that you'll watch the movie.)
In the end, you will see that the wealthiest, the greediest, the most powerful, and the smartest of all human species will get to pass on their genes. It doesn't  follow that the young will survive and the old will perish, and that the good will always prevail.Hell no! At the end of the  movie, you will see that "Made in China" tags will be the most visible thing on earth; The Russians would try  so hard to save their species; and that the Americans would save the day. Ang Pinoy? Maybe the Arroyos would survive, considering "their wealth"...
Go watch the movie. It's entertaining.

November 16, 2008, Sunday. It was a beautiful sunny day. We girls were all dolled up to attend Jennifer Chan's wedding. The ceremony was held at the historical Manila Cathedral. It was perfectly solemn..until the exchange of the rings. Jennifer is legally blind. She's getting married and she won't allow herself be caught using her eyeglasses when she walk down the aisle. She couldn't stand using contact lenses either. Yes, her eyes were naked when she got married. When the ring was handed to her, she could not see it clearly. The microphone was in front of her when she accidentally dropped the ring. Everyone heard her exclaim, "Ay nahulog!!". And that was that.

Here are the photos I took during the event. Advance Happy 1st Anniversary Edgar and Jenni!

From Gregory Nuega's Post:
"If Venus Serafin was a drink, what flavor would he/she be?"

I answered ''Vodka... You can't drink her straight! You need to savor her little by little... She's a woman of substance that's why...''

Greg is my good friend. He's intelligent, witty, and irritatingly charming. He would leave me laughing my lungs out with his hilarious jokes. You would think he's pa-sosyal but the truth is, he's a full pledged jolog inside. He's not like the Greg I've met fourteen years ago. He's smarter, more sensitive, and ready to conquer the world. If I could have a guy as my maid of honor on my wedding day, I would have him...

It was my first time to be in Albay last March 2009. I stayed at the fabulous Black Sands Resort. Fabulous because it was a seaside resort, with a lap pool, and a great view of the volcano right outside my room.
I had the rare opportunity to see Mayon up close and literally set foot halfway from its base. The view was breath taking. Here are some photos of the sights in Albay
